Joyful Roots is a ground breaking, community-led farming project working to increase food security and build more resilient local food systems. We have a community garden, urban farm and weekly veg bag scheme supplying 80+ families with culturally relevant fresh, organic produce
We promote food sovereignty following Afro-ecological and permaculture principles. We’re working to:
– build more resilient local and natural food systems, – green urban spaces and
– increase access to land/farming opportunities for racialised and underserved communities.
We are developing Hastings first sky farm, a community kitchen and a composting scheme for our members.
