The Better Food Traders annual gathering is one of the key events in our calendar – an important opportunity to meet in person, speak to other traders running similar enterprises, and hear about great work going on across the UK. It’s always a brilliant day of learning sessions, networking, good food and great ideas. It’s also a moment to step back from the day-to-day and think about what we want to do as traders and as a movement to grow the agroecological food sector.
This year we will be at OrganicLea’s Hawkwood nursery site set in Epping Forest, a tube journey and then 10 minute walk from central London.
For the first time, we are opening up our Gathering to non-members who work in the sustainable food world. We are keen to welcome all partners and supporters who are aligned with our mission: to create a visible, thriving food retail system that protects the environment, farming communities and local economies.
Join us for a day full of learning, laughter and good food with Better Food Traders and supporters from across the UK.
OUTLINE OF THE DAY
MORNING – Business matchmaking session, where you can pick the brains of other Better Food Traders and sector experts including Julie Brown from Growing Communities & Better Food Shed, Alice Brown from Sutton Community Farm and Duncan Catchpole from Cambridge Organic.
LUNCH – including a guided tour of the beautiful and inspirational OrganicLea nursery to see what’s growing and hopefully enjoy the sunshine!
AFTERNOON – Results from our Data Deep Dive survey and report, then parallel sessions on
a) Diversifying to B2B sales – with Zosia Walczak from Growing Communities
b) Consumer Insights and Marketing for the Organic September campaign – with the Soil Association.
EVENNG – social with drinks and a campfire.
