Swillington Organic Farm CSA is an award winning farm based in the heart of Yorkshire.
We’re on a mission to connect you with the food you eat.
For 3 generations and over 50 years we’ve been farming at Swillington, producing sustainable, high welfare food you and your family can trust.
We sell farms shares for the meat and vegetables that we produce on the farm. Farm shares means that the customer and farmer enter into a partnership where your subscriptions help us to plan what we produce at the farm. In return you get a share of the harvest and produce grown, saving money and being more involved in your food along the way.
Customers can sign up to a monthly meat box and/or the award winning Garden Grower club for weekly fresh seasonal organic vegetables.
We farm organically without the use of pesticides and chemicals using traditional and natural methods. We’re constantly trying to reduce waste and our aim is to be a plastic free business.
We produce honest food. The majority of our produce is organic and certified as such by the Organic Farmers and Growers body, this means that we uphold the highest quality standards.
We sell what we produce direct to you the consumer.
Farm shares more widely connect local farmers directly with consumers, which helps develop a regional food supply and strong local economy.
Farm shares also cut out the middleman, which lowers costs for consumers and provides better income for farmers. This arrangement also gives you much fresher food. We believe this freshness and traceability is what is important as it promotes the connection between field and fork and builds greater links with our local community.
We have a strong relationship with our suppliers and look to source only ethically produced goods for sale in our shop.
Farm shares help maintain a sense of community. We have an open farm day each month, inviting members to visit the farm and you can also volunteer and help grow your food.
We are a CSA. We believe its a more sustainable and responsible way to grow great local food.
