Helston Local Food Hub is a new way of shopping each week for the finest local and seasonal produce that you can usually only buy once a month from Helston Farmers’ Market.
Produce from a range of local producers are available to purchase from our online shop. It is a ‘click and collect’ service with pick-up from the Old Cattle Market in Helston on the Saturday morning. We also deliver to collection points in Mullion (1.15pm), St Keverne at 1.45pm and Porthallow at 2.15pm and a separate delivery to Constantine late morning each Saturday.
In association with Helston Farmers’ Market and supported by Helston Climate Action Group.
We provide access to the finest local and seasonal produce. The fruit and vegetable farms supplying the food hub are organic or grow to agroecological standards.
By shopping with us, you help strengthen and support your local food economy, and 80% of your spend goes directly to the producer.
Helston Local Food Hub supports Helston and the Lizard Foodbank – supporting people in crisis in the community.
In March 2019, Helston Town Council declared a climate emergency, pledging (among other measures) to help the town reach carbon neutrality by 2030. To help achieve this, the council joined in the formation of Helston Climate Action Group (HCAG).
HCAG comprises members of the local community and Helston Town Council. Working through 2019, we wrote the Helston Climate Action Plan. Several projects from the Climate Action Plan are already being delivered, contributing to the groups’ aims to reduce carbon emissions, support nature restoration, build resilience and encourage localism. The Helston Local Food Hub is one of them.
